Mr. Hemant Bhatia, ACAAI (W.R.) Chairman

Mr. Hemant Bhatia, Director of Tulsidas Khimji Pvt. Ltd (TKPL) has been unanimously selected as the Chairman of ACAAI (Air Cargo Agents Association of India) , Western Region, effective 1st January 2002. ACAAI, with 174 Active, 25 Allied and 142 Associate members is one of the active forums of IATA agents in India.

ACAAI has taken the lead in resolving the problems faced by the air cargo agents by having regular interactions with Customs, lAAI and others. As Chairman of Western Region, Mr. Bhatia will be expected to take up issues relating to the aircargo business with concerned authorities, airlines etc under the guidance of the Managing Committee.

Mr. Hemant Bhatia comes from a family whose

members have made significant contributions in establishing and functioning of various associations to help the members of the trade.

Late Seth Tulsidas Khimji was the founder President of BCHAA (The Bombay Customs House Agent's Association) in the year 1937 and continued till 1948 and later his son late Mr. Karsandas Khimji became the president in 1948 and continued till 1963. Mr. Shantu Karsandas who is also the Director of TKPL has served as the Hon. Secretary of FFFAI. Mr. Hemant's father, Late Mr. Moolsinh Karsandas was President of Air Cargo Club of Bombay and also served as the Hon. Secretary of ACAAI.
